“The Best Is Yet To Come.” -Frank Sinatra

Ah, we’re all reflecting now aren’t we? I’m not going to go too deep- I had a great year. There were some major hurdles, and some tough decisions to make. Some things to let go, and some things to grab. Some monumental failures, and some unexpected successes.

I am sending a humongous thank you to the families that continuously trust me with their most precious gems, and to the people who feel comfortable putting themselves behind the lens. You all look beautiful to me, and I hope that you feel special during the time that we spend together. I am so grateful for your kindness, patience, and belief in my abilities. It’s because of you that I want to leap out of bed in the morning and want to make the most of every day.

There are so many reasons that people choose the professions that they do, but I find a very common denominator in photographers is the desire to seize time for others. The desire to steal a second of joy, tears, surprise, companionship, and overall: love. For the coming year, I encourage all of you to take some time out of your busy lives and schedule a session with a professional photographer. It might feel uncomfortable or weird, and you might feel ugly or unworthy or silly. You might feel squirmy and on display, and you might feel anxious. But…you might also feel at ease, more beautiful than you have ever felt, more free, and happy to have had the experience. What have you got to lose? No matter what you end up feeling, it’s likely that you will walk away with treasured and heartfelt images that you will cherish forever.

Here are some of my favorites from 2016. Happy New Year!
