A Twist on Tradition

Some of my favorite things are exceptionally good food, cozy settings, beautiful flowers, and NICE people. When they all come together in one place, and I am lucky enough to be chosen to photograph the whole darn thing, I am a happy camper.

I was asked to keep track of an intimate little affair in Bedford, New York. Two life-long friends celebrated the fact that they are having babies, AT THE SAME TIME! In order to avoid seeming like paparazzi, I’ll keep their personal photos private. Some things just have to be sacred in this world (trust me: the host and guests were just as warm, cozy and tasteful as the event itself).

We met for a delicious brunch at The Bedford Post Inn, a magical place in Westchester County where my host, her family and friends gathered to joyfully celebrate. If you have not been there, get it on the weekend schedule STAT. You can read about this luxurious and multifaceted inn on their web site at

As someone who attends many events behind the camera, I have seen a lot. I can personally attest to the exquisiteness of the overall experience here…from the decor, to the food, to the personal and friendly service. It’s top notch from beginning to end. You don’t need to be planning an event to check it out: there are two restaurants, yoga and a plethora of offerings. It’s a great weekend getaway for all of you city slickers, and it’s a quick drive from Manhattan.

Let’s talk about the flowers. WOW. These beauties were provided by Hedgerow ( of nearby Pound Ridge, New York. These lively and vivid arrangements were perfect for the occasion…gloriously vibrant, picking up the subtle and crisp hues of winter. I’d love to have arrangements like this around 24/7.

Ok…ok…ok…the cake. Both adorable AND delicious, it was provided by La Tupile ( of nearby Mt. Kisco. This custom masterpiece was based on the shower invitation, and it was PERFECT.

So, feast your eyes on the beauty! I am available for intimate gatherings, events and interior/real estate photography in the greater New York City, Westchester County and Southern Connecticut areas.
